Last time we asked for your help in the ASN Wereldprijs 2010 contest. Unfortunately, we did not win that one, because we had too few votes in the end. Bad luck, but there are more prizes and contests waiting for us! Right now we are trying to win the Blue Ball of Connectedness prize worth €10.000! Unlike the ASN prize, you can vote once every day and there is no signup this time. It’s done with just the click of a button!

For those who don’t know what TED is: TED is a conference where people take the stage that have an idea worth spreading. In a rowing boat across the world, fighting for climate change, studying human behavior or inventing some awesome new technology… It all appears on TED. TEDx events are independently organized TED events across the globe. TEDxAmsterdam is one of them, and we have a chance to promote our idea there among some of the brightest minds alive. You just have to… right! Vote for us on their website! Again, no signup required, though voting is only allowed once.

Unity Express Pilot in 2011: what do YOU want to do?

Last time we told you the project had moved to 2012, but a pilot project would take place in 2011. What and how was yet to be figured out. Because we are a community driven project, we would like to invite you as volunteer or fan to decide what we are going to do in 2011! At our Open Collaboration Platform we made a topic to discuss the possibilities. Are we going to rent a train for a short distance to gain experience? Are we going to do a Unity Express on Tour to let all Europeans know we are coming? A combination of both or something totally different? You decide!

Unity Gathering in Den Haag on November 4th (RSVP on Facebook)

We invite you to a Unity Gathering in Den Haag! An event to let people come together, learn about and get involved into The Unity Express Project! It is a fun evening where you can meet like-minded people from various corners of the country and talk about the project, meet the Core Team members and listen to how the project is doing. This Unity Gathering is done in cooperation with Share Your Next, an event for networking, sharing knowledge and sharing experiences. 6 people tell who they are, what they do and why, in order to inspire the audience. It will be held in PIP (People in Progress), Den Haag. PIP is a so-called CulMa company (Cultureel Maatschappelijk energiebedrijf) and wants to connect economy, welfare, art and culture. Core Team physical meeting in Leiden November 22nd – 26th (Send an E-mail to meet us)

Once every two months, all Core Team members try to come together to work on the project and to do fun stuff. From 22 – 26 November this meeting is at the house of Kristen, one of our beloved team members for the kitchen. Although we will be doing all sorts of important work on the project, we love to come into contact with people who are enthusiastic about the project and would like to meet the team. Please send us an E-mail about who you are and when you would like to meet us. Evenings work best for us!

Always dreamt of doing an internship at a voluntary organization? We can offer just that! How about doing an internship on the project as an Event Manager, Communication specialist, Hospitality Manager or European Studies? Don’t worry about conditions: we can offer you pretty much everything you need: a desk, a tutor, a place to sleep, a fun team to work with and an unbelievable experience! The Core Team is also looking for communication and marketing specialists to join the team. • We are proud to announce that none of our partners have abandoned the project, after we informed them about postponing to 2012. We are thrilled that they have enough faith in the project and want to see this happening just as much as we do!
• We started an ambassadors program for the project. Politicians, artists and other heroes in this world who want to endorse the project by carrying out the vision will be invited to join the movement as well! Know someone who we definitively should ask? Also national heroes? Let us know!
